Strategies to get your permit approved faster. Phased permitting, over-the-counter reviews, and common pitfalls.

Permitting times in Salt Lake City and surrounding counties have increased significantly post-pandemic. A process that used to take 4 weeks can now take 12 due to staffing shortages and increased development volume.

To combat this, we recommend “Over-the-Counter” reviews for smaller projects whenever possible. For larger builds, submitting phased permits (e.g., Demolition Only, or Foundation Only) allows us to start dirt work while the architectural drawings are still being reviewed by the city.
